Tarcutta and Adelong Anglican Churches

Situated in the South West Slopes of New South Wales Australia

About Us

Our Church is traditional Anglican, yet at the same time we are open to different expressions of our faith and worship.

We value our signs and symbols, love contemporary and traditional music, and open to the Lord's Holy Spirit to lead us in our Spiritual Gifts.

We are a "partnership" of the two Parishes of Adelong and Tarcutta. There are five church Centres in all, being Tarcutta, Westbrook, Mundarlo, Adelong and Tumblong.

Our Churches are a part of the large district or "Diocese" of Canberra and Goulburn.

The address of our Tarcutta Church is Gresham Street Tarcutta NSW 2652

The address of our Adelong Church is 30 Neill Street Adelong NSW 2729

What we Believe is stated in this Apostles Creed -

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the the Holy Spirit
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
from there he will come to judge

the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of the saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

A Current Prayer

We have just had the election of Donald Trump as President Elect of the USA. He will be inaugurated on the 20th of January 2025.

Our own Australian Parliament is constantly formulating and passing legislation, which we hope and pray is for the benefit of this nation. There will be a federal election next year 2025.

Then in other parts of the world there is turmoil and unrest, not to mention terrible wars and other border skirmishes. We pray that all nation's leaders will work for the common good.

Below is a prayer from our Prayer Book for Australia -

Good Government

Spirit of justice and truth, grant to our world governments and all who serve in public life, wisdom and skill, imagination and energy; protect them from corruption and the temptation of self serving.                                      Help us to commit ourselves to the common good that all lands may be a secure home for all its peoples, through Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace. Amen.

A Prayer for the Israel and Hamas War

Heavenly Father we pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

We pray for the Israeli government and its advisers. That they may be wise in all their deliberations, to act with clarity and determination, and know the right time to cease.

We pray for the lives of civilians and soldiers who have been kidnapped by Hamas. Watch over them and bring them safely home.

We pray for the Israeli defence forces. Protect them, and may they be victorious over the Hamas terrorists who brutely attacked the people.

We pray for those who grieve the death of their loved ones. Give them strength, peace, and a great comfort in you.

We pray for all Israelis and innocent Palistinians who suffer. For healing to the injured, and strength and wisdom to doctors, nurses, and welfare agencies.

We pray for all people in Israel. Protect them, take away any fears, keep them strong, and maintain their faith.

We pray for world peace. Shed abroad your peace in the hearts of all and banish from them the evil spirit that makes for war. May we all learn to live as one family, and in obedience to your holy laws.

This prayer we make through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
